ARCTIC TAIGA

Arctic Taiga is a fully renovated riverside cottage in a truly special spot: right on the bank of the Simojoki rapids, where you can hear the water and watch salmon jump from the terrace. Sleeping up to six, it suits both families and couples looking for a peaceful Lapland getaway.

Inside you will find an en-suite bedroom with a double bed, a sofa bed in the living room and a sleeping loft with two extra beds. The kitchen is fully equipped, there is a washing machine, and an air-source heat pump keeps the temperature comfortable year-round. On cool evenings, light the fireplace in the living room. The sauna and newly renovated shower facilities complete the Finnish cottage experience.

The private terrace on the riverbank has outdoor furniture and a barbecue, and the electrified barbecue hut in the yard is the place to gather in the evenings. Down by the water there is a campfire spot, a private swimming spot in the rapids and the cottage’s own dock. Children are well catered for with toys and yard games.

Ranua Wildlife Park is about 15 minutes away by car, and Rovaniemi is under an hour – a convenient base whether you are staying in Ranua or heading further north.
