Customer
The customer agrees to comply with these and the merchant-specific terms when purchasing products and services from Wikkelä Oy’s online services.
Ordering
If you are booking accommodation for more than 12 people, please contact us to arrange possible special accommodations.
Formation of the Contract
- A binding sales contract is formed when the order is confirmed (order/payment confirmation).
- The order/payment confirmation is sent to the customer by email.
General Terms
- At the merchant’s request, the customer must prove their identity with a valid passport, driver’s license, or another identification document. If the customer cannot prove their identity, the merchant reserves the right to deny the customer access to the property.
- The prices presented on the website include VAT.
- We apply dynamic pricing for accommodation. Prices depend on the time period and vary monthly, weekly, and daily.
- Children under 3 years old who do not need their own bed stay for free.
- We sell products to adults and corporate customers.
- We reserve the right to change prices.
- The customer is responsible for the accuracy of the information provided.
We reserve the right to change our terms of delivery. The customer must familiarize themselves with the terms of delivery in effect before placing an order.
Accessibility and Special Needs
If you have special needs or requests, please contact the merchant at least 48 hours before your arrival at the property. The merchant reserves the right to charge an additional fee for any special needs or requests.
Booking Terms
These terms apply to rented and reserved products and services. Collectively, they are referred to as the “property.”
Booking
- The customer is responsible for familiarizing themselves with the description and instructions of the booked property and the related terms.
- A reservation made by the customer is binding once the order/payment confirmation has been sent to the email address provided by the customer.
- The customer pays for the reservation according to their chosen payment method, following the terms of that method.
- The booking system sends an order/payment confirmation to the email address provided by the customer.
- The merchant is not responsible for a failed booking; the customer must contact the merchant immediately to rectify the situation.
- The merchant does not guarantee that the property will still be available in this situation.
- If the property is not available, the money will be refunded, or another property will be offered if possible.
Cancellations and Changes
- All changes to reservations must be made in writing by email. Any changes take effect once confirmed by the merchant.
- The cancellation date is the day the merchant receives the cancellation notice. Full payment is required for canceled reservations, regardless of when the cancellation was made.
- A reservation may be transferred at the customer’s request under the following conditions:
- A transfer can be made only once.
- The property cannot be changed during the transfer.
- The transfer must be made at least 30 days before the original reservation start date.
- The transfer fee is 0 EUR (incl. VAT), and the transfer can only be made once.
- If the transferred reservation is canceled, the full rental price will always be charged, regardless of the cancellation date.
- The transfer can only be made within the same price category.
Merchant’s Right to Cancel the Reservation
- In case of force majeure, the merchant may terminate the rental agreement. The customer will be notified of the termination without delay.
- The customer is entitled to a full refund of the rental payment.
- Costs incurred by the customer due to the termination of the rental agreement because of force majeure will not be reimbursed.
Keys
- Instructions regarding the key and its collection will be provided in the payment confirmation.
- If the key is lost or not returned, the owner has the right to charge all costs incurred from rekeying or replacing the locks, with a minimum charge of 600 euros.
- The merchant has the right to charge a minimum of 150 euros if they are required to open the property due to a lost or misplaced key.
Use of the Property
- The property is defined in the property description.
- The customer has the right to use the property and its equipment, as well as any separately specified services, during the rental period.
- If the customer notices any deficiencies or issues at the property, they must report it immediately to the booking management.
- The customer is responsible for the cleanliness of the property and the removal of waste during and after the rental period.
- Smoking is prohibited inside the property and on the premises, except in designated smoking areas.
- The property is available to the customer during the period specified in the property description.
- The fee for charging an electric car at the property is 60 euros per day.
Pets
- The renter is fully responsible for any damage caused by their pets.
- Pets must be kept on a leash in national park areas.
- Pets must not be left unattended in the accommodation.
- Pet owners must pay special attention to the cleanliness of the accommodation. The property is always inspected after a pet has stayed there.
- The allowance of pets in the accommodation is always specified separately.
- The pet owner must follow any additional specific instructions given.
Special Terms for Rental Equipment
- The customer must familiarize themselves with the safety and usage instructions for the equipment. The equipment must be used carefully and only for its intended purpose. The renter agrees to conduct a safety inspection during the rental period. The rental equipment must not be taken abroad or rented out further. The equipment may only be used within the limits permitted by the terms and according to the user’s skill level. The customer uses all equipment, including accessories, at their own risk.
- For water sports equipment (e.g., canoes, kayaks, SUP boards, and rowboats), the customer declares that they can swim and have prior experience using the equipment.
- The customer must return the equipment immediately after the rental period to the agreed location, cleaned and in the same condition as when rented. If the return is delayed, the customer must notify the lessor immediately. The lessor has the right to charge a 100% increased rental fee for the overtime unless otherwise agreed.
- The customer is responsible for any damages and costs caused to the rental equipment due to negligent or incorrect handling and insufficient maintenance during the rental period. The customer is liable for the replacement value of any equipment lost or destroyed during the rental period. The customer is responsible for complying with transportation, safety, and other regulations. The customer must report any defects in the equipment to the lessor immediately.
- The lessor is responsible for repairs due to normal wear and tear of the equipment. The lessor is not liable for any indirect or direct costs or damages that may result from the use or failure of the equipment. The lessor is not obligated to provide a replacement for broken equipment or to compensate for costs arising from interruptions.
Damage Compensation
- The customer is obliged to compensate the merchant for any damage caused to the property. The renter is also responsible for other guests visiting the property and any damage they cause during the reservation period.
- The merchant is not liable for any inconvenience or costs to the customer caused by natural conditions, such as insects, animals, weather changes, or unforeseen circumstances.
Complaints
- Any complaints must be made as soon as possible after the issue arises.
- If a satisfactory solution is not reached or if a compensation claim is involved, the complaint must be submitted in writing within one month of the end of the rental period.
- The merchant aims to process the complaint as quickly as possible, but no later than within one month.
- If the customer and the merchant cannot reach an agreement, the customer may submit the dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board.
Payment Terms
- The merchant uses reliable and secure payment processing providers.
- The merchant does not store any bank or credit card information at any point.
- The customer agrees to comply with the terms of the payment method they select.
- Paying by invoice
- The invoice must be paid by the due date specified on the invoice.
- Late payments will incur additional late fees. If the invoice is paid after the due date using the original invoice and late fees have already accrued, the fees will be billed separately.
- If the payment transaction is not successfully completed at the time of the order, the merchant will not process the order.
